California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 27, Section 20917 et seq. requires the landfill owners to monitor for the presence or movement of subsurface landfill gas (LFG) to ensure a methane concentration of 5 percent or less at the property boundary. The monitoring is typically through installation of probes at the property boundary. Also, the air quality management district (like South Coast Air Quality Management District) regulate the compliance procedures (like AQMD Rule 1150.1) for control of gaseous emissions from municipal landfills. Arklamb can provide the monitoring/sampling services including probe monitoring, integrated surface monitoring (ISM), instantaneous surface sampling (ISS) and source test. We also do the well balance and system operation and maintenance (O&M) to maintain methane concentrations less than 5 percent by volume in air at the property boundary.
